GMBOA - Day 2

I've decided there will be 3 days of questions.  Each day's question will close for eligible responses at 5pm EST the following day.  I will choose a winner on Friday evening.

After 14 years together and 10 years of marriage, I have lots of favorite memories of Mike.  I've been waffling over lovey dovey stories all day, but the thing that I just remembered that strikes me as funny happened when we first started dating. I was still in college and Mike was a firefighter in my home town over 2 hours away.  We saw each other a lot but due to his work schedule and other obligations, we were also apart frequently.  He had a pager and he told me to page him whenever I thought of him.  We were still in that sickening sweet lovey stage, so I swear to all that's holy, I paged him every probably 30-50 times a day.  That was cute and sweet until he got his bill one month and between all the pages and all the times we talked, his bill was over $500.  Holy crap.  It wasn't so funny then, but I can look back and laugh about how young, dumb, and in love we were.  These were clearly way before the times of cell phones and unlimited minutes and texts.

Two questions for Day Two:

What have you always wanted to do but haven't?  {It can be something simple or something major like a life's dream.}

If money, time, and child care were no object, where would you go and what would you do on your dream vacation?

*Today's contest will close Thursday, 2/3 at 5 p.m. EST.

What have you always wanted to do?

I have always wanted to be uber-educated but am lazy.

Where would you go?

I'd love to tour Europe with the family. I want the kids to see all the places they learn about in school and I'd love to see the places that are memories from my own childhood.

I've got to steal this from Amanda: I've always wanted to get a whole mess of education under my belt (that sounds FANCY, doesn't it?), but life always seems to get in the way. I've also always wanted to read all of Shakespeare's plays. Haven't done that one either.

Wow. It's a little depressing to think of all the things I've wanted to do but haven't.

I've always wanted to think about things I've always wanted to do without feeling depressed because I haven't done them. HA!

As for the second question... my dream vacation would be to take Chip, Alice, and a NANNY to Scotland. I'd love to take as much time as possible all around the country. I've been there before but never made it up to the Highlands or the Black Isle... we'd bring the nanny for those times when an almost-three-year-old is just too BORED or TIRED to look at scenary or old castles.

Love the contest! Excited for tomorrow!

I've always wanted to go bungee jumping. I made it as far as the trellis and watched other people jump, but just couldn't make myself do it. Someday. Maybe.

Dream vacation? Somewhere hot. Except while I'm dreaming, I'd have to have a hubby who didn't get all red and nauseous due to the heat. And I'd have to magically whisk away any and all snakes at our destination. I'd love to go somewhere tropical, but have such a fear of snakes that it just wouldn't work. But apparently Hawaii is snake free, so that might be an option. We've been married 5 years and have yet to go on our honeymoon...

Yes, I love the nanny on vacation idea!

Amanda - I think a sightseeing tour of Europe for me would totally be dependent on the interest of the kids. Not interested? Why waste my time walking around with bored, obnoxious kids (not yours, obviously!)? I know kids would probably appreciate it when they look back on it, but as a kid I remember the torture that was Colonial Williamsburg. I woulda rather been anywhere else. That's just me! I thought it was awful. What an ingrate I was.

Rainyday - I'm not sure I'd be able to jump either. Bungee jumping seems crazy to me, but skydiving not so much. Fuzzy logic, right?

Mmm, Scotland. Sounds delightful! I just think lush greenness, beer, kilts, and bagpipes. Mike would LOVE it.
